YouthBuild allows students to learn basic construction skills while giving back to their community by creating safe, affordable housing for low- to moderate-income families. Participants devote half of their time at YouthBuild to the jobsite, where they build or rehabilitate up to 8 homes per year. Students receive a general overview of all skills from framing to finish, as well as OSHA, First Aid, and CPR training. Students are offered the opportunity to put their skills to the test and earn recognition from the National Center for Construction Education and Research.
